INDIRECT LIGHTING AS A LIGHTING SOLUTION

Of course, style is always a matter of taste, so every bedroom looks different. Everyone attaches importance to certain small peculiarities, precisely because you don't want to feel like you're in one of those typical, always the same hotel rooms in your own home. In addition to a suitable and stylish interior, it is above all the atmosphere that provides the necessary climate of well-being, and for this almost nothing is more important than successful lighting. The bedroom has some specific requirements for the necessary lighting. It should not be glaring, but bright enough not to fall into a stupor. Then, many would also like to have light right by the bed, which makes evening browsing in a novel (or the last files that absolutely need to be rolled) possible.

All these requirements can be wonderfully solved with the help of indirect and direct lighting. One option for this type of room lighting is light profiles installed under the ceiling, which on the one hand allow for atmospheric indirect lighting of the ceiling, and on the other hand, through the use of LED spotlights/spots, allow for direct lighting of the wall or the reading corner by the bed. Thus, the light in the room is very pleasant and relaxing, and yet selected areas can be illuminated brightly enough with the spots.

What applies to the ceiling, which is, of course, particularly suitable for illuminating a room, also applies to the walls or even the bed, if it has appropriate cladding. Indirect light sources (LED strips), which are mounted on the walls, as well as those under the ceiling, are hidden behind appropriate moldings - in this case, often called light coves. In this case, the installation of appropriate coving on the wall helps primarily in the atmospheric illumination of the room in conjunction with a central main light, which usually comes from the center of the ceiling. Especially as a stylish complement to a direct ceiling light, indirect light sources mounted in or on the walls can provide a second atmospheric lighting concept for your bedroom. With one or two switches, you can toggle between dim light and full illumination.

STYLISH IDEAS FOR INDIRECT LIGHTING IN THE BEDROOM

If you want to individually make your bedroom a truly exceptional place of tranquility and intimacy, indirect lighting is just what you need. This can be both a complete lighting concept with indirect and direct light sources, which in part means a little effort, but also provides the appropriate WOW effect. Or a partial concept in which the "normal" ceiling lighting is retained. This is then supplemented by indirect lighting of the ceiling with the help of appropriate light coves. This makes it easy to switch back and forth between a subdued atmosphere with soft, indirect light and full illumination. Depending on the desired brightness, even a relatively weak LED strip with about 4-6 watts per meter can be sufficient. Of course, this also applies to (built-in) cabinets, which can be illuminated particularly stylishly and pleasantly with the help of indirect light.
